A Few More Paper Quilt Links, and Kudos to Some Savvy Artists

I added Terri Stegmiller’s link after the fact on my So much more about sewing paper entry. She was kind enough to answer my inquiry about other paper quilting links by telling me about her upcoming book, Creative Paper Quilts – Aplique, Embellishment, Patchwork, Piecework.

Terri has teamed up with Sue Bleiweiss to form Two Creative Studios, where online classes are offered, as well as a quarterly online mixed media zine called Fibre&Stitch. The freebies page is a good indication of what you can expect from this zine.

I admire Terri and Sue, not only for the beautiful artwork they create, but for the savvy with which they are promoting themselves, trying different venues, taking risks. They inspire me. They didn’t just wistfully yearn for an online magazine that could be an effective vehicle for sharing their many ideas and projects, and generating connections with others as well as income. How many of us haven’t discussed as much with our art friends over lattes, then sighed and gone on with our already busy lives? Sue and Terri are quite busy, thank you very much: their prodigious outpouring of work supports that fact. BUT, they went ahead and created a zine anyway!

Bravo, ladies!

About CarolWiebe

Art entices, inspires, and delights me. Art is a vehicle for laughter, tears, wonder, enlightenment--taking me on a constant path of discovery. You can't say that about housework (except, perhaps, for the crying part).
