Balance a sculpture on your head

Jean Hicks fashions some spectacular hats, which are rather like balancing a sculpture on your head.

In October 0f 2011, she will be teaching Creative Dimensional Felting at a venue that I certainly hope to check into one day soon, Hollyhock. Hollyhock describes itself as a “refuge for your soul.”

Hollyhock features over 100 programs, and is located on Cortes Island, in British Columbia, Canada. The online catalogue lists everything that is available.

Getting back to Jean ~ she holds degrees in history, Spanish and education and has created Erratica Hats, “a line of handmade, custom-created chapeaux for discerning customers.” View the slide show and see if you wouldn’t love to be caught in a headshot wearing a Hicks hat.

About CarolWiebe

Art entices, inspires, and delights me. Art is a vehicle for laughter, tears, wonder, enlightenment--taking me on a constant path of discovery. You can't say that about housework (except, perhaps, for the crying part).
