Strandbeests Prowl Dutch Coastlines

My friend, Deb, sent me a link about a madly creative artist named Theo Jansen. I was utterly captivated by his kinetic sculptures.

If you want to see more, as I did, there are other YouTube videos available for viewing.

About CarolWiebe

Art entices, inspires, and delights me. Art is a vehicle for laughter, tears, wonder, enlightenment--taking me on a constant path of discovery. You can't say that about housework (except, perhaps, for the crying part).

Fun, yes, but Theo seems to take his fun quite seriously. And talk about commitment to his work! They have truly come alive for him.

I knew you would be captivated by these wonderful creations! Just imagine all the planning that goes into making one!

Love this blog Carol. You have the best info. Always some synchronicity for me. My brother and his wife are puppeteers as well. I took one of my grandchildren to their latest show in Ottawa a few weeks ago. It’s always a treat to watch the audience, both young and old, responding to puppets. If you are interested their website is http://www.ragandbone.ca/.

Thanks, Sharon. I also appreciate the Rag and Bone link. I love Ottawa, and have two grandchildren that would really enjoy a good puppet show.
